Sienna Services LTD is seeking an Accountant to join our finance team in Cantonment, Accra. If you have proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software, strong budgeting and forecasting skills, plus advanced Excel capabilities, this role offers the opportunity to ensure tax compliance, contribute to audits, implement cost saving measures, and assist in treasury operations.

Your Mission

You will take responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records and processing accounting transactions. Your role includes supporting month end and year end close processes using the ERP system, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and filing statutory returns on time. Additionally, you will collaborate with the payroll team, support bank account management, contribute to audits, implement cost saving measures, manage accounts payable and receivable, leverage ERP software for reporting, and assist in treasury operations.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans record maintenance, close processes, compliance, payroll collaboration, audit support, cost saving, payables and receivables, and treasury operations. Here is what you will tackle:

Financial Records & Transactions

You will maintain accurate financial records and process accounting transactions daily.
Ensuring every entry gets properly documented and coded.

Close Processes

You will support month end and year end close processes using the ERP system, meeting tight deadlines.
Preparing adjusting entries and reconciling accounts before closing.

Compliance & Statutory Returns

You will ensure compliance with tax regulations and file statutory returns on time, avoiding penalties.
Staying current with tax rates, deadlines, and filing requirements.

Payroll & Bank Management

You will collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate salary processing and related postings.
Supporting bank account management, including reconciliations and signatory updates.

Audits & Cost Savings

You will contribute to audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
Implementing cost saving measures to support team goals and improve profitability.

Payables & Receivables

You will manage accounts payable and receivable, tracking invoices, payments, and collections.
Following up on overdue accounts to maintain healthy cash flow.

ERP & Reporting

You will leverage ERP software to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capabilities.
Identifying opportunities to automate manual processes.

Treasury Operations

You will assist in treasury operations and maintain relationships with banks, ensuring seamless banking operations.

What You Bring to the Role

Education & Certification

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
ACCA or CA chartered status, or final level completion.

Experience

Five or more years of accounting experience, demonstrating progressive responsibility.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
IFRS knowledge is preferred.
Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with the MS Office Suite.
Experience in the construction industry gives you a plus.
