POSITION: Project Management Specialist

Baker Hughes is seeking a Project Management Specialist for our Subsea Projects & Services team. As a Project Management Specialist, you will not simply track timelines; you will take responsibility for project delivery, profit and loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources.

Your Mission

You will take responsibility for direct or indirect leadership and management of project resources. Your focus will span year planning, cross functional communication, senior level presentations, contract negotiation, and client specific condition management. Your ability to lead diverse clients across a region while following frameworks yet negotiating where needed will determine your success.

Your role spans resource leadership, planning, cross functional communication, strategic presentation, and contract management. Here is what you will tackle:

Resource Leadership & Management

  • You will take direct or indirect leadership and management of project resources, ensuring the right people work on the right tasks.
  • Developing personnel skills within your team builds capability for future projects.

Planning & Department Strategy

  • You will develop a year plan for your own department, aligning project delivery with organizational goals.
  • Contributing to the plan of larger units ensures your department’s activities support broader business objectives.

Cross Functional Communication

  • You will communicate across direct organization and participate in discussions with other functions and teams about improving processes, procedures, and ways of working.
  • Breaking down silos accelerates problem solving and innovation.

Strategic Presentation

  • You will present to senior leaders in specific technical spaces and on cross functional teams, explaining how technologies interconnect and contribute to overall strategy.
  • Clear, persuasive presentations build confidence and secure resources.

Contract & Client Management

  • You will follow frameworks to navigate processes while leaving room for negotiation and client specific conditions.
  • Managing customer contractual requirements to successful completion protects both parties and builds long term partnerships.

Project Cost Control

  • You will demonstrate project cost control expertise, keeping budgets on track without sacrificing quality or safety.

What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for a candidate with the right education, experience, certifications, and skills. Here is what you need:

Education

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific discipline from an accredited university, or equivalent relevant industry experience.

Experience

  • A minimum of five years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • A minimum of four years of experience as a project manager.
  • Experience managing product line Profit and Loss (P&L management).
  • Experience managing customer contractual requirements to successful completion.
  • Proven personnel development skills, because growing your team grows your capacity.

Certifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required.

Technical Skills

  • Functional use of MS Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with MS Project for scheduling and resource tracking.

Leadership & Communication

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, influencing, and planning skills.
  • Excellent English oral and written communications skills, including the ability to organize meetings and distribute accurate, succinct minutes.
