POSITION: Metallurgist

Your Mission
You will oversee and control daily process plant operations to ensure efficient gold recovery from ore. Your focus will span monitoring processing parameters such as grind size, reagent addition, and leach conditions while guiding plant operators and troubleshooting process issues. Your technical expertise will directly influence recovery performance, cost efficiency, and plant availability.
Key Responsibilities
Your role encompasses process monitoring, optimization, maintenance coordination, and safety compliance. Here is what you will tackle:
Process Monitoring & Optimization
- You will review daily metallurgical data and verify whether performance meets established targets. Your analysis drives informed decisions.
- Ensuring that all operating parameters within the milling circuit, gravity circuit, CIL circuit, and thickener remain within set targets requires constant vigilance.
- Monitoring and optimizing reagent consumption through metallurgical test work and logistical management improves cost efficiency without compromising recovery.
Maintenance Collaboration
- Collaborating with operations and maintenance teams in planning and implementing preventive maintenance programs achieves plant availability and utilization targets.
- Planning, scheduling, and executing mill relining activities demands precision and coordination.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Complying with all Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and reporting all incidents promptly in accordance with company procedures protects your team and the environment.
- Participating in general and specific risk assessments, contributing to hazard identification, and implementing appropriate mitigation controls embeds safety into daily operations.
- Monitoring and controlling key plant parameters across all processing sections, especially reagent concentrations to the CIL circuit and Tailings Storage Facility regarding WAD cyanide levels, ensures regulatory compliance.
Quality Control & Equipment Management
- Inspecting and verifying ball charge levels in both mills during planned shutdowns or when required maintains grinding efficiency.
- Monitoring and recording processes in the primary and mobile crushing units in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures approved by the Minerals Commission of Ghana ensures regulatory alignment.
What You Bring to the Role
We are looking for a candidate with the right education, hands on experience, and technical skills. Here is what you need:
Knowledge & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Minerals Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
- Five years of hands on experience in a metallurgical role within a mining environment.
- Knowledge of ICMC protocols and regulations along with the Minerals and Mining Act.
- Experience in metallurgical accounting.
- Knowledge of mill relining planning, scheduling, and execution.
- A strong understanding of metallurgical processes including crushing, milling, Carbon in Leach (CIL), gravity recovery, elution, gold room operations, tailings management, and reagent management.
- A valid Ghanaian driver’s license with the ability to operate light vehicles.

- A hands on approach with willingness to work extended hours when operational needs arise.
