POSITION: Business Analyst (Commercial Analytics)

Job Summary

Burn is seeking a sharp, analytical Business Analyst to support our Commercial Team. This is not a back-office reporting role. You will convert data into actionable insights that enhance sales performance, optimize customer usage, and strengthen operational excellence. Your work will directly influence how we sell, how customers repay, and how we compensate our teams.

Consequently, you will develop and maintain performance dashboards, monitor KPIs, and support strategic decision-making. You will manage sales agent mapping and payment data. You will lead SAH tracking and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and transparency between sales performance and compensation. If you have two to four years of experience in a data-intensive role and advanced skills in Excel, SQL, or Power BI, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

As Business Analyst, you will be the analytical backbone of the Commercial Team. You will design and maintain dashboards for customer usage, repayment efficiency, and sales performance. You will track and analyze sales metrics by agent, cluster, and region. Also, you will monitor repayment behavior and identify early warning signals. You will also support commission calculations and ensure data accuracy across systems. Your insights will empower leadership, sales teams, and operations to make smarter decisions.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Dashboarding & Reporting

  • Design and Build Dashboards: You will create clear, automated dashboards for customer usage, repayment efficiency, sales performance, and KPI tracking. You will make data visible and understandable.
  • Ensure Accuracy and Timeliness: You will update dashboards on agreed timelines and ensure every data point is correct. Leadership will rely on your numbers.
  • Provide Clear Visualizations: You will translate complex datasets into visuals that sales teams and leadership can act on instantly.

Sales & Commercial Analytics

  • Track Sales Performance: You will analyze performance by agent, cluster, region, and channel. You will identify who is succeeding and who needs support.
  • Monitor Sales Funnel Metrics: You will track leads, conversions, and rejection rates. You will spot bottlenecks and opportunities.
  • Support Forecasting and Target Setting: You will provide the data backbone for performance reviews and future planning.
  • Identify Underperforming Segments: You will flag areas of concern and recommend corrective actions to management.

Repayment & Portfolio Analysis

  • Monitor Repayment Efficiency: You will track portfolio performance and identify trends in customer repayment behavior.
  • Identify Early Warning Signals: You will spot signs of poor repayment or usage before they become major problems.
  • Support Enforcement Strategies: You will partner with sales and credit teams to improve repayment outcomes through data-driven interventions.

KPI Management & Performance Tracking

  • Define and Track KPIs: You will calculate monthly and quarterly KPIs and ensure they are communicated clearly to stakeholders.
  • Support Incentive Calculations: You will validate data used for commissions and performance-based payouts.
  • Ensure Data Integrity: You will verify that every performance evaluation rests on accurate, reliable data.

Data Quality & Process Improvement

  • Ensure Data Accuracy: You will maintain consistency and completeness across all systems. You will be the guardian of data quality.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: You will work with sales ops, IT, and finance to improve data flows and automation.
  • Document Processes: You will maintain clear documentation of metrics definitions, dashboard logic, and reporting procedures.
  • Continuously Improve: You will always look for ways to make reporting faster, clearer, and more useful.

Commission Support & Field Visibility

  • Update Agent Mapping Records: You will maintain accurate records of sales agent assignments and territories.
  • Verify Commission Calculations: You will validate commission data before payments go out. You will ensure accuracy and fairness.
  • Manage SAH Tracking and Reconciliation: You will lead reconciliation processes to align sales performance with compensation.
  • Monitor Field Activities: You will provide real-time data visibility on cluster team activities to ensure performance alignment.
  • Develop Compensation Reports: You will process and deliver compensation reports for clusters.

Stakeholder Support

  • Provide Ad-Hoc Analysis: You will respond to commercial questions with data-driven answers.
  • Translate Data into Insights: You will explain complex findings to non-technical stakeholders simply and clearly.
  • Support Leadership Presentations: You will prepare data for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews.

The Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a data professional with strong technical skills and a commercial mindset. You must be comfortable with large datasets and eager to drive business outcomes.

To excel in this role, you will need:

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Between 2 to 4 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Commercial Analyst role.
  • Strong experience with data analysis and reporting tools: advanced Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain dashboards and translate complex datasets into clear insights.
  • Experience analyzing sales performance, customer usage, or financial/portfolio data.
  • Strong understanding of KPI development, tracking, and performance reporting.
  • Experience working with large datasets and ensuring data accuracy, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Experience supporting forecasting, incentive calculations, or performance management is an added advantage.
  • Experience in fast-paced, data-driven environments such as fintech, energy, PAYGO, or FMCG is a significant advantage.
