- Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is the host institution.
- Up to €5,000 in awards
- Up to twelve awards may be given.
- Nationality: Switzerland, a member of the EU/EEA, or the United Kingdom
- June 30, 2023, is the application deadline.
- The prize can be accepted in Ireland.
Eligibility
- Applicants from EU/EEA member countries, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom are eligible.
- Acceptable Courses or Subjects: Any course provided by the university will qualify for the scholarship.
The following requirements must be met by candidates in order for them to be considered:
- Enroll in college for the first time.
- Be a citizen of the UK, Switzerland, or an EU/EEA member state.
- You must have successfully passed your Leaving Certificate exams within the last two years.
- Be a current applicant to a full-time undergraduate degree at Galway-Mayo ATU through the CAO and meet the general and specific entry requirements.
- The Stephen Walsh Memorial Scholarship will only be given to full-time undergraduate School of Engineering students at the Dublin Road, Galway campus.
- Have a family income that is below the third-level maintenance grant requirement at the time.

Scholarship Advantage
The €5,000 scholarship is meant to help students from low socioeconomic backgrounds or those who have experienced challenging personal circumstances who are enrolling in an engineering program at ATU Galway.
