- Interns recruited in Geneva receive CHF 1,500 per month
- Interns serving in Regional or Sub Regional Offices receive 10% Daily Subsistence Allowance for 30 days monthly
- Interns working remotely receive CHF 300 per month
- Funded interns follow the allowance rate of their sending entity
Duration and Leave
Interns engage for a minimum of three months to a maximum of twelve months. Additionally, participants earn 2.5 days of leave per month throughout the internship duration. However, unused annual leave does not receive compensation at the conclusion of the internship.
Insurance Coverage
WMO provides comprehensive insurance protection for all interns. Those based outside Switzerland receive coverage through CIGNA Insurance for sickness and accidents, with WMO covering enrollment fees. Interns based in Switzerland must maintain health and accident insurance, typically through Swisscare, with WMO adding the insurance cost to monthly stipends. Furthermore, all interns across WMO duty stations receive coverage under the WMO Benefits Insurance Plan and the Malicious Act Insurance Policy.
