WATCH! Head of service speaks on Local Government job postings
The head of the Local government service, Nana Ato Arthur, has disclosed relevant information to successful applicants in the just ended recruitment. It ranges from the status of the recent recruitment and when successful applicants are expected to commence work.
Nana Ato Arthur was emphatic to say that the recruitment has ended. This was contained in an interview he granted with Okay fm.
“We are done with the recruitment. Appointment letters have been posted to all successful applicants. They have all been directed to do medicals. Some of the medical reports have been received. Others are expected to be received by close of this week.” Nana Ato hinted.
According to the head of service, Successful applicants who are declared medically fit are the ones who will be engaged for the service. He added that postings and subsequent start to duty shall all occur in September.
Nana stated that ” Those that are medically fit according to their reports are expected to start work in September. Their postings will be out by the 1st of September 2019.
It will be from the postings that successful applicants will know that they have been posted to say Krachi, Dambai or Techiman. All over Ghana, except that when we placed the advert, we indicated that Greater Accra, Ashanti and Eastern regions were exempted. Those regions are chocked. So to a large extent, successful applicants will be posted to the regions they chose when applying for the job.”
The local government service have for some time been battling with their date targets with regards to this recruitment. It will be recalled when a group calling itself the Coalition of Local Government Job Applicants became furious with the recruitment process. They wondered why it would have to take six months to complete a recruitment process of less than three thousand.
