This opportunity is for an experienced Surveillance & Access Control Technician seeking to work in the United States within a highly structured, security-focused public sector environment. This is a long-term contract role (1+ year) offering hands-on exposure to statewide secure facilities, enterprise networks, and mission-critical infrastructure systems. About the Role

As a Surveillance & Access Control Technician, you will be part of a specialized technical team responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and support of facilities-based systems across nearly 200 secure and non-secure locations statewide. Your work will cover surveillance systems, door access controls, building automation, telecommunications, and supporting IT infrastructure.

The role requires a high level of independence, strong troubleshooting ability, and adaptability, as work is often performed onsite at secure facilities, including correctional institutions. Travel within Wisconsin is a core requirement, and on-call support is expected on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, maintain, and monitor statewide surveillance and access control systems
  • Support door control, building automation, telecommunications, and related facilities systems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot enterprise networks, servers, storage, and surveillance equipment
  • Implement and manage web filtering solutions using Palo Alto and Zscaler platforms
  • Create and maintain detailed system documentation, project tracking, and management reports
  • Perform independent onsite work across secure and non-secure facilities statewide
  • Provide tactical and strategic input into systems planning and infrastructure projects
  • Participate in an on-call rotation approximately every eight weeks

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in surveillance systems, network, and server support
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches
  • Working knowledge of web filtering technologies, including Palo Alto and Zscaler
  • Experience with video surveillance systems across network, server, and workstation environments
  • Ability to work independently in secure facilities and field-based environments
  • Willingness to relocate to Wisconsin prior to starting the role at personal expense
  • Some college education required
  • Eligibility for H-1B, TN, or other valid U.S. work visas (OPT/CPT not accepted)
