Requirements for the GIST Scholarship in 2027

1. Have the required prior degree

• Applicants must have the academic qualification for the chosen graduate programme.

2. Satisfy the Program’s Academic Requirements

• Applicants must have an academic background appropriate to the field of study.

3. Satisfy the English Language Requirements

• Relevant language requirements apply to international applicants. More than 90% of GIST courses are taught in English, which makes the university particularly attractive to international students.

4. Write the recommendation letters.

• The applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation.

5. Meet Departmental Requirements

• Individual departments may have extra requirements regarding academic background, research interests, language proficiency or other qualities.

Benefits of GIST Scholarship in 2027

• GIST offers full tuition support. The university covers the tuition fee of KRW 3,607,000 every semester.
• Secondly, international graduate students can receive financial support of KRW 140,000 for M.D. students and KRW 295,000 for other graduate students.
• GIST also provides a monthly lunch stipend of 100,000 Korean won.
• International students might also receive up to an extra KRW 120,000 a month.
• In addition, students engaged in research projects may receive additional research assistantship support of: M.S.: KRW 6,400,000 per year and Ph.D.: KRW 13,740,000 per year.
• GIST also offers multiple opportunities for student housing, including graduate student accommodation.
