Undergraduate Scholarships: Rewarding Academic Excellence

TMU automatically considers all first-year students for guaranteed entrance scholarships based on their final admission average. The awards are renewable each year, encouraging students to maintain academic excellence throughout their undergraduate studies.

TMU’s Prestigious Scholarships

President’s Entrance Scholarship

The President’s Entrance Scholarship is TMU’s top undergraduate award, valued at $40,000 CAD (up to $10,000 per year, renewable). Only 12 exceptional students earn this honor, which recognizes leadership, creativity, and academic distinction.

Recipients also benefit from reserved on-campus housing at Pitman Hall or the International Living/Learning Centre, creating an ideal start to university life. Eligibility criteria include:

Minimum 90% admission average
A creative essay or project (max 500 words) demonstrating originality and vision
Two reference letters, one academic and one showcasing leadership
A summary of leadership activities from the last two years of high school

Terence Grier Entrance Scholarship

The Terence Grier Entrance Scholarship honors a transformative TMU president and covers full tuition for the first year for one outstanding student. Applicants must have at least an 85% average and submit:

A personal statement
Two reference letters reflecting academic ability and leadership potential

This award recognizes students who excel academically and demonstrate strong leadership potential.

Scholarships for International Students: ISLA Awards

The International Student Leadership Award (ISLA) supports first-year international students who show leadership and academic excellence.

ISLA Fall 2026: $10,000 CAD for up to 53 recipients
ISLA Winter 2027: $10,000 CAD for up to 20 recipients

Eligibility Requirements :

International student paying international tuition
Minimum 86% final admission average
Personal statement highlighting leadership and extracurricular engagement
No more than one academic gap year
