Steps to Take after IRCC Returns an Incomplete Immigration Application | Canada Immigration Guide

If IRCC sends you back an incomplete visa application, you need to figure out what is missing. Usually, IRCC sends the applicant an unfinished application along with a letter of explanation and a list of documents that need to be sent. In the end, these two things will help you see what is missing from the application.

IRCC also says that people who get applications that aren’t full will get their money back. The refund process usually takes up to eight days. If it takes longer than that, they can ask for a return.

The IRCC help center says that applicants will get a copy of their incomplete application by email if there is a digital record. There will be a paper copy sent to them in the mail if their immigration forms do not have a digital copy.

Steps to take after IRCC Returns an Incomplete immigration application

When the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRCC) sends back your immigration application, you are required to carefully read the explanation letter and review the document checklist to determine the reason for the rejection and the items that were missing.

Make preparations to receive your application from the IRCC. When you do so, make certain that you incorporate all of the paper documents that are required, as well as any information that was absent from the initial edition. If you decide to submit the applications once more, you may make use of identical documents that contain valid signatures and proof of payment. There is a possibility that you will be required to fill out new documents and sign them if you do not keep your signatures up to date.

After completing this stage, you are required to provide a letter of explanation to the IRCC, in which you explain the reasons behind any changes or updates made to the information or any details.

If the circumstances were different, it is possible that you might not be able to provide the IRCC with the missing documents or information for whatever reason. If this is the case, however, you will be required to compose a letter of explanation to the IRCC to clarify this.

Additionally, applicants need to ensure that they resend the document checklist as well as the letter of explanation that they received from IRCC along with their incomplete application when they receive it back.

Key points to consider while resubmitting an application to IRCC

When applicants resubmit their visa application to IRCC, they need to keep the following important things in mind:

  • Applicants who get back an unfinished application from IRCC need to look over the application guide again. So, they’ll know if there are any changes or updates since they first sent in their application.
  • People who sent in paper applications and got a reply email can send their paperwork by mail. If your application is for a class, though, you need to print it out. Also, you need to send in IMM1344 and the papers if it’s for family sponsorship. When you get your application back, make sure you send in the information that was sent to you.
  • You have 90 days from the date you signed your application to send it again to IRCC. The date you sign your new application also can’t be in the future.

It will take time for IRCC to process your new application from the day they receive it.

Why sending a full application to IRCC is important

IRCC sends a finishing checklist to people who are applying for all programs. This checklist is provided by the department to make sure that all applicants send in full applications, which can speed up the processing time. By giving good reasons, the checklist makes it clear how important it is to send in full applications.

However, some visa programs don’t let applications be sent again. This includes the Express Entry application method, which is made up of three different programs. Candidates can’t send in their applications through this method, so they have to start the application process all over again.

The Federal Skilled Worker Program, the CEC, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program are the three programs that makeup Express Entry.

It is very clear from IRCC’s statement that it will not accept any new Express Entry applications. If it sends back an unfinished application, you have to start the process all over again. On top of that, they will have to fill out a new application and reapply for Express Entry. They may still be able to get an ITA for Canadian PR if they send in a new application.

First, applying through Express Entry is a great idea because it increases your chances of getting an ITA. But sending in an application that isn’t full will hurt your first chance. This is why it’s so important to carefully read over your application before sending it in. With Express Entry, getting a second chance comes with several obstacles. Unusual changes in CRS scores could be to blame for the issues. Also, a candidate may not be able to use Express Entry on their second attempt to get into a certain school.

When you send in your first Express Entry application, it’s best to include all the necessary papers and information. This way, you won’t have to start the Express Entry application process over with a new identity.
