Social Scientist – Gender Specialist at IITA

Job Description
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) seeks to recruit a Social Scientist – Gender Specialist under the OneCGIAR Sustainable intensification of Mixed Farming Systems (SI-MFS) Initiative – Ghana.
Duty Station: Accra, Ghana with some travel to project implementation sites
The Position
The incumbent will work in an interdisciplinary team of agricultural researchers and will be responsible for collecting and analyzing social science data with a focus on gender and intersectionality. S/He will report to the gender lead of the OneCGIAR initiative “Sustainable lntensification of Mixed Farming Systems’’
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Social Scientist – Gender Specialist – SI-MFS Ghana will perform the following duties, among others:
- Firstly, Collect. process and analyze quantitative and qualitative social science data with a focus on intersecting inequalities
- Secondly, Contribute to the development of research tools (including piloting)
- Thirdly, Monitor and ensure the quality of data collected by research assistants
- Moreover, Establish and maintain relationships with relevant partners and stakeholders in the specific context
- Additionally, Organize and facilitate trainings and workshops to increase gender capacity
- Then, Contribute to the writing of reports, peer reviewed publications and communication products
- Finally, Perform all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor
General information: This is Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position. Initial appointment is for Two years with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon individual performance and the availability of funding.
