Role Overview
As HR Manager, you will architect and execute human resource initiatives that support business objectives while fostering a positive work environment. You will oversee recruitment, performance management, policy development, and employee relations across the organization. This position requires both strategic vision and practical HR implementation skills in a fast-paced logistics setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end recruitment processes, including job description development and candidate selection
- Implement effective onboarding programs to integrate new hires seamlessly
- Develop retention strategies to maintain talent across all organizational levels
- Conduct industry benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation practices
- Create and review HR policies in alignment with organizational objectives
- Ensure compliance with Ghana Labour Law and regulatory requirements
- Provide guidance and counseling on policy interpretation and application
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information
- Facilitate performance management processes and development planning
- Manage disciplinary procedures and grievance resolution mechanisms
- Administer compensation structures and benefits programs
- Support diversity and inclusion initiatives throughout the organization
- Develop HR metrics and reporting systems to inform decision-making
- Oversee attendance tracking, salary reviews, and bonus administration
- Manage vacation leave and benefits deduction processes
- Supervise HR team members and departmental operations
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in logistics/courier sectors
- At least 5 years in supervisory or managerial HR roles
- Comprehensive knowledge of Ghana Labour Law and HR best practices
- Age 35+ with married status
- Expertise in benefits administration and compensation management
- Strong performance management and employee development skills
- Experience with HR classification and diversity initiatives
- Proficiency in HR information systems and data management
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Discretion in handling confidential information
- Strategic thinking with a practical implementation focus
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Adaptable to evolving business requirements
- Professional HR certification (CHRP, SHRM, or equivalent)
- Background in logistics, transportation, or supply chain industries
- Experience with organizational development and change management
