Singapore to Waive Visa Requirement for Saudi Nationals
As on June 1, 2023, Saudi citizens possessing passports from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will no longer need a visa to enter Singapore, according to the Singapore Embassy in Riyadh.
Without a foreign passport, Saudi citizens visiting Singapore needed an entry visa before this change.
This adjustment will make travel easier and strengthen relations between the two countries.
“This is what the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has said: SAUDI PEOPLE, THIS IS IMPORTANT: “From 1 June 2023 (included), Saudis having passports from the KSA will no longer need an entry visa to enter Singapore,” the Singapore Embassy tweeted.
The following is a message from the Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA):
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR NATIVES OF SAUDI:
From June 1, 2023, Saudi citizens with papers from the KSA will no longer need to apply for an entry visa to go to Singapore.
Exempted Categories
According to the statement, the exemption applies to all types of visits, such as those for business, tourism, or just passing through. Saudis will be able to stay in Singapore without a visa for up to 30 days.
But it’s important to note that Saudi citizens with official passports already don’t need a visa to visit Singapore, so this change won’t affect them.
The Singapore Embassy also said that all Saudi citizens who want to enter Singapore before June 1, 2023, except those with diplomatic passports, will need to apply for an entry visa. Those with diplomatic passports are already free from Singapore visa rules.
No Refunds for Singapore Entry Visa Applicants
The Embassy continues to say that people who have already applied for an entry visa or found out the result of their application will not be able to get their visa processing fee back. The Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that all Saudis should be aware of this strategy.
There is no way to get your visa processing fee back if you have already sent it in or found out the result of your application. https://t.co/8ifLlyVqJ3
The Saudi embassy in Singapore likes the new policy, which it thinks will lead to more travel between the two countries and stronger ties between them.
Overall, letting Saudi citizens enter Singapore without a visa is a good way to improve ties between the two countries. It is hoped that it will make more Saudis want to come to Singapore for work and pleasure.
