Role Overview
As Quality Assurance Officer, you will develop and implement rigorous quality procedures across our natural product lines. You will coordinate laboratory testing, maintain certification compliance, and enhance quality awareness among production cooperatives. This position demands both technical expertise and collaborative skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems & Compliance Management
- Develop and enforce quality procedures aligned with SFC standards and certification requirements
- Maintain compliance with NOP and EOS organic certification standards
- Establish a quality control laboratory for shea butter and oil testing
- Create comprehensive testing plans and documentation procedures
Product Testing & Analysis
- Coordinate third-party laboratory testing for quality verification
- Prepare accurate Certificates of Analysis for international clients
- Interpret laboratory results and implement corrective actions
- Maintain organized filing systems for all quality documentation
Training & Capacity Building
- Conduct quality training for shea butter and soap production cooperatives
- Enhance cooperative understanding of SFC quality specifications
- Develop training materials and practical demonstration methods
- Support continuous improvement in production practices
Stakeholder Engagement & Client Support
- Respond to client inquiries and quality questionnaires promptly
- Collaborate with certification and commercial departments
- Address quality issues through systematic problem-solving
- Liaise with laboratory partners and regulatory bodies
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Food Science Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years in cosmetic or food processing quality assurance
- Experience with NOP and/or EOS organic certification requirements
- Proven laboratory experience with analytical interpretation skills
Technical Competencies:
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices
- Knowledge of cosmetic manufacturing and natural product processing
- Documentation and certification compliance experience
- Laboratory testing and quality monitoring capabilities
