About Role

The Research Data Steward will provide technical consultancy and operational support to researchers across UCL, ensuring effective management, curation, and preservation of research data throughout its lifecycle. Responsibilities

Provide technical support and consultancy on research data management practices
Manage, curate, and preserve research data across its lifecycle
Ensure compliance with FAIR data principles and funder requirements
Collaborate with researchers across social sciences, humanities, climate science, and related disciplines
Support the adoption of best practices in data governance and stewardship
Advise on data storage, documentation, metadata standards, and preservation strategies
Utilize programming, cloud, and database technologies to support data-intensive research
Contribute to ARC’s innovation initiatives in digital scholarship and computational research

Requirements

Experience conducting or supporting data-intensive research
Understanding of research data lifecycle management and FAIR principles
Technical proficiency in Python or another programming language preferred
Familiarity with cloud technologies and database systems such as SQL or SPARQL
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Experience within social sciences, digital humanities, climate science, or related disciplines advantageous
