2. Senior Risk Officer

Key Responsibilities 

  • Create and manage the annual ORSA Report and associated risk reporting papers (SFCR, RSR, and QRTs) for both life and non-life companies.
  • Assist ALCO and RICO (Asset Liability Committee / Risk Committee) in developing agendas, acquiring and preparing supporting papers, and producing meeting minutes.
  • Contribute to the formulation and monitoring of key risk indicators (KRIs).
  • Assist first-line risk owners in consistently using the Risk Management Framework to identify, analyze, manage, monitor, and report on all major risks.
  • Perform ad hoc assessments and quality reviews.
  • Maintain and establish policies in compliance with the applicable governance framework.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to achieve important objectives.
  • Develop a strong risk-awareness culture throughout the firm.

Key Skills and Qualifications 

  • A master’s degree in actuarial science, risk management, finance, or a similar discipline.
  • 6 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Strong reporting skills, independence, and understanding of financial markets, actuarial calculations, and insurance principles (both life and non-life).
  • Extensive risk management experience and a thorough understanding of the local and Solvency II regulatory systems.
  • Proven expertise in developing internal policies, documenting processes, and managing risks and controls.
  • Fluent in English and French; German is useful for communicating with the headquarters.
  • Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to comprehend actuarial and financial data.
  • Team player, versatile, and capable of prospering in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication and presenting skills.
  • Proficient in information technology, notably MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
