Redda Group is conducting a search for a Vice President of Finance on behalf of a high growth Energy Company operating across West Africa. This is a senior leadership role with a regional scope, initially based in Ghana. The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to Nigeria after the first year.

The Strategic Opportunity

The company is entering a critical scaling phase and requires a VP of Finance to guide its evolution into a credible, institutional-grade energy platform. You will serve as the principal financial leader in Ghana, with responsibilities expanding across multiple countries. Reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating closely with the Board, you will shape capital strategy, instill financial discipline, and enable sustainable regional expansion. This role is designed for a strategic, hands-on finance executive who excels in dynamic emerging market environments and desires significant ownership over enterprise-level results.

Key Responsibilities

You will provide comprehensive financial leadership and strategic partnership.

Act as the senior finance leader and strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
Build and institutionalize robust finance systems, controls, and standardized reporting across all operating entities.
Lead treasury operations, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic scenario planning.
Shape the company’s capital structure strategy, including project finance, debt, refinancing, and growth funding initiatives.
Partner on major commercial decisions, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
Serve as the primary interface with lenders, investors, auditors, tax authorities, and regulators.
Develop clear financial narratives and executive dashboards to inform Board and leadership decision-making.
Build, lead, and mentor a high performing, multi country finance team.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We seek a seasoned finance leader with senior level experience in energy, infrastructure, utilities, or other capital-intensive industries.

Demonstrate a proven ability to build or transform finance functions within growth-stage or emerging market companies.
Possess a strong background in FP&A, treasury, controls, capital structuring, and risk management.
Have significant experience working with lenders, investors, and navigating complex regulatory environments.
Exhibit executive presence, sound judgment, and the skill to translate financial complexity into clear strategic guidance.
Show cultural intelligence, unwavering integrity, and comfort operating across multiple countries.
