Marriott Hotel is recruiting a skilled Engineering Supervisor to join our maintenance team in Accra. This leadership role is pivotal for ensuring the optimal functionality, safety, and reliability of all hotel equipment and facilities. You will supervise a technical team, manage preventive maintenance programs, and respond promptly to guest requests, all while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.

Position Summary and Key Duties

You will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of tools, appliances, and systems throughout the property.

Install, maintain, and perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all hotel equipment, recommending replacements when necessary.
Calibrate controls, gauges, and meters; identify and operate all system shut-off valves.
Manage inventory, order parts and supplies, and maintain accurate purchase logs.
Inspect tools and equipment regularly and operate powered lifts as required.
Complete critical life safety checklists, including fire pump and generator tests, and inspect sprinkler and alarm systems.
Assist in developing disaster response protocols and respond efficiently to guest repair requests.
Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching engineering staff.
Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, report hazards, and ensure team completion of safety certifications.
Maintain a professional appearance, ensure guest privacy, and deliver service that anticipates guest needs.
Foster positive team relationships, support organizational goals, and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost savings.
Perform physical tasks including lifting objects to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and using stairs or service ramps.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates should possess a degree from a technical, Trade, or vocational school in a relevant engineering field.

Have at least two years of related work experience in facility maintenance or engineering, preferably within the hospitality industry.
Possess a minimum of two years of proven supervisory experience, demonstrating the ability to lead and motivate a team.
While not mandatory, relevant professional licenses or certifications are beneficial.
