DEME Group, an industry leader in offshore energy and infrastructure projects, is seeking a dedicated Cable Lay Superintendent to join our dynamic marine team. This pivotal role places you at the forefront of renewable energy and subsea connectivity projects, where your leadership will directly contribute to building a more sustainable future.

About the Role

As a Cable Lay Superintendent, you will live and work aboard one of our advanced offshore vessels, taking full responsibility for the safe and efficient loading, transport, and installation of subsea cables. You will coordinate a specialized team and multiple stakeholders to ensure seamless operations in a challenging and rewarding marine environment.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Direct and oversee all cable-related operations, prioritizing safety and technical excellence
Manage and mentor a skilled team of 10-15 foremen and equipment operators
Conduct detailed shift handover meetings to maintain continuous operational awareness
Collaborate closely with bridge officers and survey teams to optimize cable laying activities
Supervise all back-deck operations, including Cable Installation Systems (CIS), ROVs, and crane operations
Ensure the complete integrity of subsea cables throughout all project phases
Maintain comprehensive daily logs and provide regular reports to the Offshore Installation Manager
Uphold the highest safety standards while meeting project timelines and quality targets

Your Profile

We are looking for candidates who possess:

Minimum 5 years of direct experience in subsea cable operations
Proven leadership capabilities in offshore environments
Exceptional communication and team coordination skills
Strong attention to detail and procedural compliance
Resilience and adaptability in demanding work conditions
Flexibility to respond to changing operational requirements
Willingness to work on rotational schedule offshore
