POSITION: Maternal Health Program Manager
An International NGO is recruiting a dedicated Program Manager to lead its Maternal Health initiatives. This role demands an experienced professional who will provide both technical and programmatic leadership. The core objective is improving access to and effective use of essential maternal health commodities. Furthermore, the successful candidate will undertake vital research, producing publication-ready papers and utilizing strong storytelling skills to communicate findings compellingly.
Key Responsibilities and Impact
You will oversee a range of critical activities designed to strengthen maternal healthcare systems and outcomes.
- Lead Capacity Building: Provide direct training and mentorship for nursing and midwifery staff within partner health facilities to enhance clinical skills and service delivery.
- Drive Learning and Development: Conduct rigorous research and author publication-ready papers on maternal health topics. You will also prepare timely reports, funding proposals, and presentations for diverse audiences.
- Oversee Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor health facility performance against established standards and support partners in preparing accurate monthly reports.
- Manage Strategic Partnerships: Engage actively with key stakeholders, including government agencies, donors, media, and community groups, to fortify maternal health systems. Additionally, you will support the development of fundraising proposals and periodic donor reports.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates must possess a minimum of a master’s degree in Public Health, Maternal Health, or a closely related field. A background in Midwifery is essential.
- Demonstrate a proven research background with tangible contributions to maternal health studies or publications.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and confident presentation skills.
- Be an articulate, outspoken, and effective speaker capable of advocating for program goals.
