Duties and Responsibilities
- Organize and manage all farming tasks, including planting, watering, harvesting, and fertilizing, to ensure optimal crop growth and yield.
- Create financial reports and budgets for agricultural activities.
- Maintain thorough documentation of production, costs, sales, and workforce.
- Oversee and direct agricultural workers and labourers.
- Examine production statistics and climatic factors to enhance agricultural yield.
- Evaluating current operations, agricultural products, animals, employees, and financial records, then suggesting enhancements.
- Creating plans and timelines for planting and harvesting, while making sure staff comprehend expectations.
- Touring the various divisions to evaluate crops, livestock, and conducting analyses on soil and water.
- Making certain that seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and additional supplies are consistently replenished.
- Coordinating the repair, upkeep, and replacement of machinery and equipment.
- Managing the promotion and sale of farm-produced items such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meats, and grains.
- Making certain that all employees comply with health and safety standards.
- Aiding in the hiring and onboarding of new employees.
- Working with senior personnel to create budgets and financial statements.
- Establishing professional connections and staying updated on advancements in agricultural science.
Required Skills or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, or a similar discipline.
- Extensive understanding of agricultural crops and livestock care methods.
- Strong organizational and troubleshooting abilities.
- Skills in leadership and team management.
