About the Role

As a Line Worker, you will play a vital role in constructing, maintaining, and restoring Western Power’s transmission and distribution networks across Western Australia. The position focuses on safety, reliability, and rapid fault response to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply across one of the world’s largest electricity networks. You will work a standard 37.5-hour Monday-to-Friday week, with optional overtime available, allowing for a strong work–life balance alongside high earning potential.

Responsibilities

Construct, maintain, and repair transmission and distribution power networks to required standards
Respond promptly to network faults to restore the electricity supply and minimise disruptions
Carry out live line work, fault finding, and network restoration activities safely and effectively
Participate in pre-job planning to identify hazards and implement risk mitigation measures
Represent Western Power professionally while maintaining strong customer and community relationships
Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and operational standards

Requirements

Recognised UK Lineworker trade qualification such as Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Power Engineering, City & Guilds Level 2, or equivalent
Proven competency in live line work, fault response, and network restoration
Full UK driving licence with the ability to convert to a Western Australia HR Class licence
Switching experience (HOU/LOU or equivalent) is highly desirable
Willingness to relocate to regional Western Australia and work within community-based depots
