Job Title: Midwife Trainer 

Job Description

Life Net International is a dynamic organization dedicated to strengthening healthcare systems and improving service delivery across partner facilities. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Midwife Trainer to join our team. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional committed to elevating clinical standards through education, mentorship, and evidence-based program implementation.

As a Midwife Trainer, you will play a central role in building the capacity of nursing and midwifery staff while contributing to meaningful improvements in maternal health outcomes. Your expertise will guide the development of skilled healthcare providers and support sustainable systems strengthening.

Key Responsibilities

Capacity Building and Mentorship

  • Deliver high-quality training and ongoing mentorship to nursing and midwifery staff within partner health facilities
  • Serve as a clinical coach and consultant to nurses and midwives in charge, providing expert professional guidance
  • Measure training impact through pre-tests, post-tests, and periodic surveys
  • Support facilities in developing and implementing performance improvement plans
  • Provide technical expertise on maternal health commodities and their effective integration into clinical services

Learning and Program Development

  • Adapt and refine training curricula to ensure relevance within the local context
  • Design, implement, and evaluate targeted maternal health projects and interventions
  • Ensure accurate completion of all required clinical documentation by facility staff
  • Conduct and support research initiatives that inform program decisions and policy development
  • Develop knowledge products, including papers, publications, and research findings, to share best practices
  • Prepare timely program reports, funding proposals, and professional presentations

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Partnership Management

  • Monitor health facility performance against established quality standards
  • Collect and enter performance data using electronic platforms during facility visits
  • Support partner facilities in preparing and submitting monthly reports
  • Facilitate the use of digital platforms to sustain quality healthcare delivery
  • Engage with government agencies, community stakeholders, and media partners to strengthen maternal health systems
  • Contribute to fundraising proposals and donor reporting
  • Assist with hosting international partner visits as needed

Your Profile and Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Registered Midwife with valid professional certification
  • Minimum of ten years of clinical midwifery experience
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Maternal Health, or a related field
  • Demonstrated research background with contributions to maternal health studies or publications
  • Experience in program management and multi-stakeholder engagement
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Training in clinical quality standards is preferred
  • Confident, articulate, and passionate about maternal health education
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving
