POSITION: Logistics Officer
Right To Play is currently recruiting a highly organized and results focused Logistics Officer to support its operations in Accra. To begin with, the Logistics Officer plays a central role in ensuring that all operational activities run efficiently. You will coordinate procurement, manage assets, oversee fleet operations, and maintain safety standards. In addition, your work will directly support program delivery by ensuring that resources reach the right place at the right time.
Role Overview
In this position, you will manage logistics functions that support both program and administrative activities. You will collaborate with internal teams while maintaining strong relationships with external partners. At the same time, you will ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will span several operational areas that contribute to overall efficiency:
Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Lead procurement processes in line with organizational guidelines and approval thresholds
- Ensure timely sourcing and delivery of goods and services including program materials and consultancy services
- Coordinate procurement committee activities and manage contracts effectively
- Maintain supplier databases and track vendor performance
- Supervise stock movement, documentation, and inventory processes
- Support partner organizations by reviewing procurement compliance and verifying delivery documentation
Administration and Operational Support
- Manage fleet operations including transportation planning and monthly performance tracking
- Ensure regular maintenance of vehicles, generators, and equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation for audit readiness
- Coordinate travel arrangements such as transport, accommodation, and visas
- Oversee office facilities, utilities, and maintenance needs
- Support events through vendor sourcing, negotiation, and cost tracking
Asset Management
- Maintain and update asset registers on a regular basis
- Track asset allocation and ensure proper documentation
- Lead periodic physical verification of assets
- Coordinate asset disposal processes in line with regulations
Safety and Security
- Enforce safety procedures and ensure staff follow established protocols
- Monitor security conditions and implement preventive measures
- Coordinate with external security networks and share relevant updates
- Promote safe handling and protection of organizational assets
Furthermore, your ability to manage multiple responsibilities will help maintain operational consistency and reliability.
Skills and Experience Required
To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of seven years experience in logistics, procurement, or supply chain operations
- Proven experience managing fleet operations, vendor relationships, and procurement compliance
- Strong knowledge of documentation and asset management practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics management systems
- Fluency in English and at least one relevant local language
In addition, candidates should demonstrate strong organizational and problem solving skills.
