POSITION: Manager, Cloud Delivery

MTN Ghana is seeking a Manager, Cloud Delivery to own end to end delivery and operations of IT infrastructure, lead cloud services across public, private, and hybrid environments, and ensure reliability, availability, performance, and security. If you have proven experience managing vendors and driving SLA and KPI performance, plus knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, virtualization, containers, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD tools, and networking, this role offers the opportunity to drive migration waves, enforce cloud governance, implement FinOps, lead disaster recovery, and close audit observations.

As Manager, Cloud Delivery, you will not simply manage cloud platforms; you will own end to end delivery, drive process optimization, ensure high availability, establish governance frameworks, manage vendor relationships, and promote Infrastructure as Code and automation.

Your Mission

You will take responsibility for owning the end to end delivery and operations of IT infrastructure. Your role includes leading cloud services across public, private, and hybrid environments, planning and leading migration waves including landing zones and workload transitions, driving process optimization and documentation discipline, and ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of all cloud platforms. Additionally, you will oversee 24/7 operations and incident management, establish cloud governance frameworks, ensure compliance with ISO 27001 and CIS benchmarks, lead risk assessments and audits, implement FinOps practices, manage the full cloud lifecycle, drive capacity planning, enforce security by design, lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning, promote Infrastructure as Code, enable CI/CD integration, manage cloud provider relationships, and close audit observations.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans delivery, operations, governance, lifecycle management, automation, vendor management, and compliance. Here is what you will tackle:

Delivery & Operations

  • You will own end to end delivery and operations of IT infrastructure.
  • Leading cloud services across public, private, and hybrid environments.
  • Planning and leading migration waves including landing zones and workload transitions.
  • Driving process optimization, standardization, documentation discipline, and post implementation reviews.
  • Ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of all cloud platforms.
  • Overseeing 24/7 operations, incident management, and service restoration.

Governance & Compliance

  • You will establish and enforce cloud governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards including ISO 27001 and CIS benchmarks.
  • Leading risk assessments, audits, and remediation activities.
  • Implementing cost governance and financial controls using FinOps practices.
  • Ensuring proper access control, identity management, and audit trails.

Lifecycle & Capacity Management

  • You will manage the full lifecycle of cloud platforms including design, build, operate, optimize, and retire.
  • Driving capacity planning, scaling strategies, and lifecycle upgrades.
  • Leading patching, upgrades, and technology refresh cycles.
  • Ensuring standardization and automation across environments.

Security & Resilience

  • You will ensure cloud environments meet security by design principles.
  • Implementing and overseeing cloud security controls including network security, encryption, and endpoint protection.
  • Leading disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Conducting regular resilience testing including failover and backup validation.

Automation & CI/CD

  • You will promote Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform or Ansible.
  • Enabling CI/CD pipeline integration with cloud platforms.
  • Reducing manual interventions through orchestration and automation.
  • Supporting development teams with self service cloud capabilities.

Vendor Management

  • You will manage relationships with cloud providers including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Overseeing managed service providers and outsourcing partners.
  • Ensuring vendor performance meets contractual obligations and SLAs.
  • Supporting commercial negotiations and cost management.

What You Bring to the Role

Education

  • A minimum of a university degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications including ITIL, COBIT5, PRINCE2 or PMP, and cloud certifications (Azure or AWS) are a must.
  • An MBA or Master’s degree gives you an added advantage.

Experience

  • A minimum of five years of experience in IT infrastructure including data centre, network services, compute and storage, end user services, or cloud, with delivery accountability for multiple initiatives.
  • At least three of those years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven experience managing vendors or partners in project or managed services contexts and driving SLA and KPI performance.
  • Experience in telecoms or regulated environments and multi stakeholder delivery models is advantageous.

Knowledge

  • Delivery leadership including planning, prioritization, dependency management, benefits tracking, and escalation management.
  • Knowledge of IT service management, reliability, capacity, monitoring, incident and problem linkages, and DR and BCP requirements.
  • Structured root cause thinking, data driven decisions, and risk based trade offs.
  • Stakeholder management, negotiation, and influence across technical and business teams.
  • Public cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Virtualization including VMware, KVM, and Hyper V.
  • Containers including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
  • Infrastructure as Code including Terraform, ARM, and CloudFormation.
  • Configuration management including Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
  • CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps.
  • Networking including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Security best practices and compliance frameworks.
  • Monitoring tools including Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Logging and observability platforms.
