POSITION: Marketing Lecturer

Transnational Academic Group, in academic partnership with Lancaster University UK, is seeking a Marketing Lecturer to join our campus in Ghana. Your Mission

You will contribute to the teaching commitments of our Department by delivering lectures, examinations, and administrative duties across undergraduate and master’s programmes. Your role will also encompass curriculum development, student supervision, departmental seminars, and pastoral care. Additionally, you will support marketing activities such as Business Week while developing links with professional bodies and external organisations.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans teaching, curriculum design, student support, research, and external engagement. Here is what you will tackle:

Teaching & Assessment

  • You will deliver lectures and examinations on undergraduate and master’s programmes within the Department.
  • Supervising project dissertations undertaken by students guides them through their final academic milestones.

Curriculum Development

  • You will contribute to curriculum development and the design of individual courses offered by the Department. Your input shapes what and how students learn.

Research & Academic Engagement

  • Contributing regularly to Departmental seminars, discussion groups, and collaborative research groups keeps our academic community vibrant and connected.
  • Building an emerging record of research experience in marketing, supported by publications comparative to your position and career history, strengthens your academic profile.

Student Support

  • You will contribute to the Department’s academic and pastoral care of students, enhancing their learning, personal development, and achievement.
  • Providing guidance and encouragement helps students navigate challenges and reach their full potential.

Programme Management

  • Contributing as appropriate to programme management and related activities ensures smooth delivery of our academic offerings.

External Engagement & Marketing

  • Developing and maintaining links with relevant professional bodies and academic groupings expands our network and opportunities.
  • Supporting the marketing activities of the Department, such as Business Week, showcases our programmes to prospective students.
  • Contributing to the development of the interface with external organisations builds bridges between academia and industry.

What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for a candidate with the right academic qualifications, teaching experience, and personal attributes. Here is what you need:

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • At least an MPhil in Marketing. A PhD gives you a distinct advantage.
  • Three years of experience teaching in higher education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • A high degree of motivation within the discipline and a strong desire to work toward embedding a research culture.
  • Experience working cooperatively and flexibly with colleagues, including undertaking appropriate administrative responsibilities.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in module design, curriculum development, and quality assurance, using pedagogical research to enhance the learning experience.
  • Experience or a good understanding of the issues involved in transnational education.
  • An emerging record of research experience in marketing, evidenced by publications comparative to your position and career history.
  • Evidence of your ability to take an effective leadership role.
