This pivotal role combines deep technical expertise with strategic commercial leadership. You will leverage your mining engineering background to identify new opportunities, engage clients with Orica’s digital solutions, and expand our market presence while delivering measurable value to mining operations throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership and Pipeline Management:
- Drive the complete sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure using Orica’s advanced CRM systems.
- Serve as the primary client contact, developing customized solutions that address specific operational challenges.
- Negotiate agreements and secure both new and recurring digital product sales.
Strategic Market Development:
- Maintain comprehensive intelligence on North African market dynamics and competitor activities.
- Analyze pricing strategies and value propositions to strengthen Orica’s competitive position.
- Identify emerging opportunities and contribute to regional strategic planning.
Technical Engagement and Solution Design:
- Apply your mining engineering expertise to lead technical discussions with client teams.
- Ensure Orica’s digital solutions align with operational requirements and deliver tangible improvements.
- Support the commercialization of new technologies and their implementation at customer sites.
Financial Planning and Performance Analysis:
- Contribute to budgeting processes and profitability assessments for digital products.
- Utilize data analytics to evaluate financial performance and identify growth opportunities.
- Develop business cases for new technology investments and market expansions.
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers across multiple mining operations.
- Coordinate with digital and technical teams throughout project implementation phases.
- Manage stakeholder expectations during technology rollouts and system integrations.
Your Profile and Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Degree in Mining Engineering or related field with a minimum of ten years of mining industry experience.
- Proven success in achieving sales targets and driving market penetration for technical products.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and profitability analysis.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and data analysis tools.
- Willingness to travel 25-50% across North Africa.
