Jobs in Albania with Visa Sponsorship for Foreign Workers ($40,000 – $50,000 a year)

Because of rising job opportunities and a booming economy, Albania is rapidly opening up to international nationals. This article provides essential information about Albanian work visas, with a focus on employment eligibility, permit criteria, and visa application procedures.

Is a work visa required in Albania?

The nationality of a foreign individual determines their immigration and employment rights in Albania. Nationals of the European Union (EU), Western Balkans, the United States (US), and Schengen nations have the same rights as Albanian nationals and do not require special authorization.

Foreign citizens who do not fall into one of the following categories and wish to work in Albania must apply for a working visa.

How to Apply for a Work Visa in Albania

The process of applying for a work visa in Albania is comparable to that of most European nations. It starts with the issuance of a work permit, moves on to the formal application for a work visa, and concludes with a petition for a residence permit.

You can proceed as follows:

1. Ask your employer for a work permit.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs issues work permits that give foreign workers permission to work in Albania. Once you sign an employment contract with an Albanian company, you will be awarded a work permit.

For at least a month, your employer posts a notice for a vacant position. If no Albanian residents are available during this time, your employer will be allowed to hire international talent like you.

You will provide a copy of your requirements to your employer to demonstrate your suitability for the position. Your employer will supply papers demonstrating their legal status in Albania. These documents will be forwarded to the Local Labor Office for review within 15 days.

If your application is approved, you and your employer will be issued a Work Permit.

2. Fill out an online work visa application.

You can now legally apply for an Albanian work visa after acquiring a work permit. An online application would be the first step, then an in-person interview.

e-Albania is the website where you may apply for a visa online. Click “Apply” to start a new application. Fill out the form’s personal information and upload the documents asked. When you’re finished, submit the application. You will receive an email with a verification code that you may use to track your application on the same page.

Following verification, you will be led to a payment service. Follow the payment steps to ensure that your application is accepted.

3. Attend the visa interview.

Your online application also ensures a meeting date and time with a relevant Albanian diplomatic post, embassy, or consulate. The information will be sent to your email address.

You must be personally present before the Embassy on the date of the appointment to submit physical copies of your application paperwork. The Embassy reserves the right to seek additional papers and a brief interview with you.

Your work visa for Albania will be given within 15 to 30 days of the application being accepted.

4. Obtain a residency permit

You must apply for a residency permit within 30 days of entering Albania. Visit e-Albania to apply for a residency permit electronically. Fill out the electronic form and upload the required PDF documents. Once you submit the form, the local migration office will be contacted and will process your application within 30 days.

If your application is approved, you will be issued a residence permit card with a validity period ranging from 3 to 6 months to one year, two years, three years, or five years, depending on your work permit.
