POSITION: FUND RAISING OFFICER

SOS Children’s Villages Ghana is an organization focused on child welfare, offering consistent Family-Like Care (FLC) for children requiring assistance. We also offer social services to families in need through our Family Strengthening Projects. At present, we function in four sites: Tema, Asiakwa, Kumasi, Tamale, with the Headquarters located in Accra. Applications are sought from appropriately qualified and energetic individuals for positions as:

  • Duty Location: Asokore Mampong, Kumasi
  • Period: 3-year agreement (extendable depending on performance and funding availability)
  • Objective: To lead the fundraising initiatives of the Organization, creating fundraising campaigns to attract financial contributions from individuals by promoting the value of the SOS Children’s Villages Ghana in alignment with its Strategic Vision.

Qualification and Experience

The perfect candidate should possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Humanities.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in fundraising or insurance sales.

  • Excellent sales abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong people skills
  • Strategic planner paired with a practical “can-do” mindset.
  • Proficient in analytical decision-making, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

Main Duties

  • Reach out to prospective donors (businesses, individuals, religious organizations, etc.) via letters of inquiry (LOI), phone calls, emails, letters, requests, etc., to enhance the visibility and funding for SOS.
  • Request contributions directly from prospective donors, strategize, organize, and monitor solicitations.
  • Compose all communication related to fundraising and confirm that it reaches intended recipients.
  • Seek an in-person meeting and explore creative methods of collaboration with prospective donors for funding possibilities.
  • Employ various fundraising methods, such as social media, online platforms, direct mail, campaigns, and others, in alignment with the SOS Strategic Vision to attract donors.
  • Cultivate and enhance connections with donors while consistently delivering high-quality responses when necessary.
  • Make certain that consistent updates, including information, newsletters, announcements, etc., are provided to donors.
  • Establish trust with donors by providing financial reports to project-related contributors promptly.
  • Collaborate with Project Heads to plan, organize, and coordinate recognition events for donors.
  • Keep precise and prompt documentation of all engagements with current donors, including reports, etc.
  • Monitor and record all donor revenues for precise management reporting
  • Oversee the history of fundraising and agreements with contributors
  • Assist in creating the Newsletter and distributing it to projects and donors.
  • Make certain that the website’s fundraising and communication details are current.
  • Communicate, organize, and work together with the communications officer to create and develop outreach resources for donor requests, recognitions, and nurturing donor relationships.
  • Assist in the editing of donor brochures alongside visits and events.
  • Assist Project Leaders by evaluating and organizing fundraising events.
  • Foster strong connections and collaboration with every project and department within the organization.
