Position: English and Ghanaian Language Teacher

Happy Heart (Montessori) School (HHS) is a respected private institution in Dome Pillar 2, dedicated to delivering excellent, Christ-centered basic education. As a forward-thinking school committed to 21st-century learning, we are seeking a passionate and innovative teacher to deliver both English and Asante Twi language instruction. The successful candidate will inspire young learners and prepare Junior High School pupils for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). This role reports directly to the Headteacher.

Job Description and Core Responsibilities

You will be responsible for delivering a high standard of bilingual education in line with national curricula.

Deliver engaging lessons based on the Ghana Education Service (GES) curriculum for Basic School English language and Asante Twi.
Prepare JHS students comprehensively for success in both language subjects at the BECE level.
Develop creative lesson plans and learning activities tailored to the age and ability of diverse learners.
Assess, monitor, and report accurately on student progress and development in both languages.
Organize and facilitate extracurricular language activities such as reading clubs, competitions, or cultural exhibitions.
Collaborate effectively with fellow teachers and actively participate in school events and professional development training.
Fulfill the additional duties of a class teacher, providing pastoral and academic guidance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or a Diploma in Education with a specialization in both English and Twi language teaching
Have at least two to three years of direct classroom teaching experience in English language and Asante Twi; basic school-level experience is a distinct advantage.
Demonstrate proven JHS teaching experience with a strong track record of excellent BECE results in the named languages.
Exhibit strong communication and classroom management skills with a genuine passion for developing young minds.
Be creative, resourceful, and enthusiastic about implementing hands-on, interactive learning methods.
Show a willingness to undergo continuous training in new educational technologies and methodologies.

Preferred Candidate and Location

The ideal teacher is adaptable, student-centered, and committed to fostering a love for both English and the Ghanaian language and culture. We strongly recommend that the candidate reside in or near Dome, Kwabenya, Haatso, Achimota, or the immediate environs to ensure proximity to the school.
