Asanko Gold Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of the dual-listed Galiano Gold Inc., operates a multi-pit mining complex on the Asankrangwa Gold Belt. Our operation includes a 5.5 Mtpa processing plant with significant expansion potential. We are seeking an experienced Manager for Supply Chain, specializing in Procurement and Contracts, to provide strategic leadership and ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective flow of materials and services.

Role Overview and Impact

This senior role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive procurement and contracting strategies. You will manage supplier relationships, oversee warehouse and logistics operations, and ensure strict compliance with corporate governance, Ghanaian mining regulations, and local content requirements. We require a commercially astute leader with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills within the mining or heavy industrial sector.

Key Responsibilities

Your leadership will span strategic sourcing, operational logistics, and rigorous compliance.

Procurement and Contract Management

Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supply security
Lead high-value tender processes, negotiations, and finalize contracts with suppliers and service providers.
Manage supplier performance against Service Level Agreements (SLAs), KPIs, and commercial terms.
Identify and mitigate contractual risks while driving cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure contract alignment with business objectives.
Maintain a centralized contract register and provide detailed management reporting.

Warehouse, Inventory, and Logistics

Oversee all warehouse operations to ensure effective stock control, storage, and distribution.
Implement inventory management best practices to minimize waste, obsolescence, and production downtime.
Optimize logistics and material flow to robustly support active production schedules.
Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and material handling standards.

Governance and Compliance

Ensure adherence to Ghanaian mining regulations, local content laws, and corporate procurement policies.
Monitor market trends and supplier performance to maintain a competitive supply chain advantage.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or legal qualification is a strong advantage.
Possess a minimum of ten years of experience in procurement, contracts, or supply chain management, preferably within mining or heavy industry.
Have at least three years in a senior managerial or leadership position.
Demonstrate proven experience in contract negotiation, tender management, supplier relationship management, and warehouse optimization.
Exhibit strong knowledge of Ghanaian mining regulations, including GIAMA and local content requirements.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is highly preferred.
Professional certifications such as CIPS, CSCP, or APICS are advantageous.
