POSITION: Director of Finance and Operations

Job Description

Total Family Health Organisation (TFHO) is a leading public health organization dedicated to improving community well-being through sustainable health solutions. We are seeking an accomplished Director of Finance and Operations to provide strategic leadership for our financial management and operational systems. This executive role is critical for ensuring organizational growth, profitability, and the effective execution of our mission-driven programs.

As Director of Finance and Operations, you will oversee all financial, procurement, and warehouse functions. Your leadership will ensure robust fiscal health, strong internal controls, and efficient processes that support our programs and comply with donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Team Management:

Align and inspire the finance, procurement, and warehouse teams around TFHO’s mission, values, and key performance objectives.
Model organizational values and foster a culture of accountability, coaching team members to achieve excellence.

Financial Management and Reporting:

Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and donor financial reporting.
Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the Executive Director and Board.
Lead the annual budget development process and monitor performance against financial plans.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, manage risks, and provide strategic recommendations.

Operations and Compliance Oversight:

Ensure strong internal control systems are implemented and maintained across finance and procurement.
Supervise procurement processes to ensure compliance with TFHO policies and value for money.
Oversee warehouse management, ensuring adherence to proper goods distribution practices.
Manage grant and contract administration, ensuring all donor compliance and reporting requirements are met.

Your Profile and Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

Full professional certification (ACCA or ICA Ghana).
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Minimum of ten years of progressive experience in a senior finance or accounting management role.
In-depth knowledge of donor-funded financial reporting and compliance.
Strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities.

Required Skills and Behaviors:

Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 Suite and advanced financial software.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
High integrity, professionalism, and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
Ability to design policies, manage risks, and drive organizational efficiency.
Understanding of TFHO’s values and a commitment to being consumer and community-focused.
