POSITION: Loan Officer

Job Description

We are now seeking a motivated and proactive Loan Officer to join our team and play a pivotal role in this transformative work.

Role Overview

As a Loan Officer, you will be the cornerstone of our community lending operations. Your primary focus will be on building strong relationships with clients, managing group lending activities, and ensuring the financial health of our loan portfolio. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for making a tangible difference.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily activities will be diverse and impactful, encompassing the following key areas:

Group Formation and Management: You will be responsible for forming new client groups and overseeing existing ones. This involves managing 3 to 4 groups daily, five days a week, to build a strong and reliable client network.
Financial Collections: A core duty involves the efficient collection of weekly cash collaterals, security deposits, and loan installments from all organized groups, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
Loan Portfolio Planning: You will prepare a detailed half-yearly plan for loan disbursement to qualified group members, aligning our financial services with client needs and business objectives.
Regulatory Compliance and Disbursement: You must disburse all loans in strict adherence to the company’s established rules and regulations, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and procedural accuracy.
Documentation and Reporting: Completing loan application forms before any disbursement is essential. You will also maintain daily realizable and realized information sheets to ensure precise and up-to-date portfolio tracking.
Risk Management and Recovery: Furthermore, you will develop and implement effective techniques for collecting defaulted or late payments, proactively working to reduce overdue loans and minimize portfolio risk.

Your Qualifications and Experience

Essential Requirements:

A minimum of an HND or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
At least two years of professional experience, preferably in microfinance, banking, sales, or a related client-facing role.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for effective client interaction.
Strong organizational abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
The capacity to work independently, manage a busy schedule, and meet weekly targets.
