We are currently implementing the Latter-day Saint Charities (LDSC) funded Holistic Opportunities for Positive Engagement in Maternal and Child Health (HOPE-MCH) Project. This initiative centers on child well-being, creating a supportive ecosystem of family, community, and health system care to help children not only survive but thrive.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Project Officer to join the HOPE-MCH project team. In this vital role, you will monitor and report on all field activities, ensuring the project adheres to best practices and maximizes its positive impact. Your service-oriented approach will directly support CRS’s mission to serve the poor and vulnerable with quality and accountability.

Your work will be foundational to project success at the community level:

  • First, you will support the coordination and field implementation of all assigned project activities as outlined in the detailed work plan.
  • You will facilitate communication and information sharing among the project team, implementing partners, and community beneficiaries to strengthen local engagement.
  • A core duty involves using GPS systems to map and generate coordinates for all project sites, including communities and health facilities.
  • Furthermore, you will ensure all project documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed according to agency and donor guidelines.
  • You will also collaborate closely with District Health Management Teams (DHMTs) to ensure activities align with signed agreements and health system protocols.
  • Additionally, you will monitor progress, identify challenges, and report findings to help adjust implementation plans as needed.
  • You will support project accountability by assisting with data collection, analysis, and the preparation of regular reports.
  • Finally, you will help identify staff capacity needs and document promising practices for case studies and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Public Health, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least two years of work experience in project support, community development, and mobilization. Fresh graduates with relevant skills may also be considered.
  • Preferred Experience: Background in maternal and child health, early childhood development, gender inclusion, or disability programming within an NGO setting is advantageous.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, strong observation and relationship management skills, attention to detail, and excellent facilitation abilities.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in local languages (e.g., Dagbani, Mampruli, Twi, Hausa) is a strong asset.
  • Other: Ability and willingness to travel up to 90% of the time to project communities and to ride a motorbike in rough terrain.

Why Join CRS?
