Job Title: Graphic Designer 

Overview

The Parliamentary Service of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the vital position of Graphic Designer. Job Summary

The Graphic Designer will hold primary responsibility for conceptualizing, designing, and producing high-quality on-screen graphics. These assets will support news segments, live parliamentary broadcasts, and dedicated programs. Ultimately, your work will elevate visual storytelling and significantly improve audience comprehension of legislative activities.

Main Duties and Core Responsibilities

Reporting through the Director of Broadcasting, the Graphic Designer will provide essential support by performing the following key duties:

  • Asset Creation and Animation: You will generate dynamic broadcast-ready assets. This includes designing titles, lower thirds, complex data-driven infographics, and compelling motion animations for various parliamentary productions.
  • Brand and Template Development: A major responsibility involves developing and maintaining standardized visual templates for all broadcasts. Consequently, you will ensure absolute brand consistency and a professional visual identity across every piece of legislative coverage.
  • Creative Collaboration: You will collaborate closely with editorial, production, and technical teams. Furthermore, you will provide creative input to enhance narrative clarity and viewer engagement through strategic, high-impact visual aids.
  • Additional Assignments: You will also perform any other relevant duties assigned by the Clerk to Parliament in support of the Service’s communication objectives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Interested candidates must firmly meet the following criteria:

  • Possess a minimum of a Diploma in Graphic Design, Multimedia Studies, Visual Communication, or a directly related field from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Demonstrate high proficiency in industry-standard design and motion graphics software, specifically the Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator) or comparable professional tools.
  • Exhibit strong creative thinking and conceptualization skills with a sharp, meticulous eye for visual detail.
  • Show an unwavering commitment to producing work that meets the highest technical and quality standards for broadcast.
  • Additionally, the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines within a structured environment is essential.
  • A basic understanding of parliamentary processes or prior experience in a broadcast news environment, while not mandatory, would be a distinct advantage.

Location: This is a full-time position based at the Parliament House in Accra.
