Why Keda Ghana Ceramics Company Limited?
Keda Ghana Ceramics Company Limited stands as a leader in ceramics manufacturing, delivering world class tiles to Ghana and West Africa. As part of the global Keda Group, we combine advanced technology with sustainable practices to create innovative, high quality products. Beyond our ceramics operations, we also engage in infrastructure projects that require skilled heavy equipment operators. Joining our team means you will contribute to impactful projects, grow your career, and help shape the future of Ghana’s manufacturing and construction sectors.
Your Mission
You will operate road rollers to perform compaction work on infrastructure projects. Your role directly impacts the durability and safety of roads, building foundations, and other surfaces. Your ability to handle the equipment smoothly, inspect it daily, and report mechanical issues promptly will keep projects on schedule and within safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Your role spans equipment operation, preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and teamwork. Here is what you will tackle:
Equipment Operation
- You will operate road rollers safely and efficiently, achieving the required compaction density without damaging the machine or surrounding areas.
- Adjusting roller speed, vibration, and direction according to ground conditions and project specifications demonstrates your technical skill.
Daily Inspections
- You will perform daily equipment inspections before starting work, checking fluid levels, brakes, steering, and compaction mechanisms.
- Identifying worn or damaged components early prevents breakdowns and costly delays.
Reporting & Communication
- You will report mechanical issues to supervisors immediately, describing symptoms clearly so repairs can proceed quickly.
- Following site instructions from engineers and foremen ensures your work aligns with overall project plans.
Safety & Cleanliness
- You will follow all safety protocols, including using seat belts, maintaining clear visibility, and keeping unauthorized personnel away from the operating zone.
- Maintaining equipment cleanliness after each shift protects moving parts and presents a professional image.
What You Bring to the Role
We are looking for a candidate who meets the qualifications and embodies the discipline essential for heavy equipment operation. Here is what you need:
License & Experience
- A valid License F authorizes you to operate road rollers on Ghanaian roads and construction sites.
- A minimum of two years of proven experience operating road rollers on real infrastructure projects.
- A clean driving and operating record, demonstrating your respect for safety rules and equipment care.
Personal Attributes
- Safety conscious: You never cut corners. You wear personal protective equipment, follow site rules, and speak up when you see unsafe practices.
- Disciplined: You arrive on time, complete inspections thoroughly, and keep your machine clean without being reminded.
- Attentive: You notice changes in machine performance or ground conditions and respond appropriately.
- Patient: Compaction requires methodical passes, not rushed work. You take the time to do the job right.
