IRCC Invites PNP Candidates in the Latest Express Entry Draw

Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for the latest Express Entry draw have been sent out by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). 174 ITAs were distributed by the department through a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw. To be taken into consideration, candidates needed to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 816.

Express Entry draws have taken place this week for the second consecutive week. 1,933 ITAs were distributed to PNP candidates, candidates with French language proficiency, and candidates enrolled in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program last week.

According to the IRCC’s most recent Immigration Levels Plan, federal immigration targets through the Express Entry system are expected to rise in the upcoming year. In the upcoming year, the immigration service anticipates that 124,680 Express Entry applicants will arrive in Canada.

Furthermore, almost 82,000 of these admissions allocates to the In-Canada Focus category, a new category for Express Entry applicants in Canada. Candidates in the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and PNP-aligned Express Entry streams may also fall under this category, which will mostly consist of CEC candidates in the Express Entry pool.

The “Federal Economic Priorities” category will receive the remaining 41,700 permanent residency (PR) admissions, under the most recent Levels Plan. Similar to this year’s category-based choices carried out by the IRCC through the Express Entry system, this category will welcome individuals in the Express Entry pool who have professional expertise in high-demand professions and vocations in the Canadian labor market.

What is Express Entry?

The CEC, FSWP, and FSTP are the three main economic immigration programs for people looking for permanent residency, and Express Entry is an application management system for them. The CRS evaluates applicants for these programs by allocating scores based on human capital variables such as age, occupation, language proficiency, education, and work history.

Having a sibling in Canada, applying alongside a spouse or partner, or combining work experience and education from both Canada and outside can all earn you extra points. The likelihood of an ITA greatly increases for candidates nominated provincially through an upgraded PNP stream, as they qualify to obtain an additional 600 CRS points.

If they match the requirements of the particular draw, candidates with the highest CRS scores have the best chance for an ITA in subsequent Express Entry lotteries.
