Indigenous Youth Fellowship 2027 | Call for Applications
Applications are open for the Indigenous Youth Fellowship 2027. Cultural Survival runs this program to strengthen cultural identity and leadership among Indigenous youth. Since 2018, it has awarded over 157 fellowships. These have benefited more than 350 Indigenous youth worldwide.

About the Fellowship
This fellowship funds youth-led projects that benefit Indigenous communities directly. Fellows amplify community voices and raise local issues in global dialogues. They work closely with Cultural Survival staff throughout. A local mentor also offers voluntary guidance, encouragement, and feedback. The program prioritizes gender balance and encourages women and 2SLGBTIQ+ youth to apply.
What Fellows Receive
Fellows receive project funding between $2,500 and $5,000. They also gain leadership development opportunities through the program. Cultural Survival staff provide support during project implementation. Fellows additionally join an orientation session in March 2027. Eligible activities include workshops, skills training, multimedia, and craft projects.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must be Indigenous youth or groups aged 18 to 28. They should commit to working with Cultural Survival and meeting deadlines. Fluency or interest in learning an Indigenous language is preferred. Former Cultural Survival Youth Fellows cannot reapply. Applications come from specific countries in the Americas, Asia, and Africa.

Applicants submit a project concept through the Good Grants platform. They must create an account first. Applications are accepted in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
