The Opportunity

We are now recruiting a passionate and motivated Assistant Brewer. This role offers a fantastic entry point into the professional brewing industry. You will work directly alongside our Head Brewer, gaining practical experience in all aspects of production. Key Responsibilities

In this vital support role, you will engage in diverse brewery operations. Your core duties will include:

First, you will provide comprehensive support across the entire brewing cycle, assisting with mashing, boiling, fermentation, conditioning, and final packaging.
You will actively monitor fermentation by tracking key metrics like temperature and specific gravity to ensure product consistency and quality.
A crucial part of your role involves participating in quality control, including sampling beers to assess carbonation levels and flavor profiles.
Furthermore, you will handle raw ingredients, managing malt, hops, and yeast supplies, which includes lifting sacks and operating milling equipment.
Additionally, you will assist in packaging operations, supporting our canning and kegging lines to prepare products for distribution.
Maintaining a pristine work environment is essential. You will perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of tanks, hoses, and all brewing equipment.
You will also conduct routine equipment checks and assist with minor mechanical repairs to ensure operational efficiency.
Finally, you will maintain accurate records by logging all batch details, brewing activities, and quality control data.

Required Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of practical ability and foundational knowledge:

A genuine passion for craft beer and brewery culture.
The physical capability to lift over 30kg and remain on your feet for extended shifts.
Comfort working with cleaning chemicals and a steadfast commitment to safety protocols.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for basic troubleshooting.
Excellent communication and a collaborative team-oriented attitude.
Previous brewery experience or relevant education in fields like biology, chemistry, or food science is a strong advantage, though not mandatory.
