Good News for Skilled Workers & International Graduates: Latest BCPNP & MPNP Draws | IRCC

This week, immigrants who wish to apply for permanent residency in Canada in the future were nominated by the province nominee programs in Manitoba and British Columbia. Through the Family Reunification and Skills Immigration streams, candidates were asked to apply. For a detailed analysis of this week’s provincial immigration updates, continue reading.

Note: Since each PNP evaluates immigration candidates according to a separate set of criteria, the scores obtained by PNPs are not comparable and can differ significantly.

Immigration Results (May 11–24)

British Columbia

On May 14 and 22, the British Columbia PNP held two separate draws for candidates. 37 invitations were sent out on the 14th as part of a general draw by the British Columbia PNP, which took into account all of the program’s skilled worker streams: skilled worker, skilled worker express entry British Columbia option, international graduate, international graduate EEBC option, express entry, and semi-skilled streams.

All streams required a minimum score of 131 for candidates to be invited, except the Express Entry and Semi-Skilled Streams, where a minimum score of 107 was required. The stream is in line with Canada’s Federal Express entry-managed programs, as shown by the EEBC option.

The British Columbia PNP conducted targeted drawings for candidates with professional expertise in occupations that are in demand in the province on April 14 within the same draw. At least 36 candidates were invited to this draw, which was conducted under the Skilled Worker and International Graduate Streams, including the BC option.

The cutoff scores for the draw were as follows: 90 for candidates with prior experience working in child care, 93 for those with prior experience working in construction, 100 for those with prior experience working in healthcare, and 84 for those with prior experience working in veterinary care.

Another targeted draw for in-demand employment under the Skilled Worker and International Graduate Streams, including the EEBC option, was held by the British Columbia PNP on May 22. With cut-off scores, at least 75 invitations were sent out; these included 93 for candidates with prior experience working in child care, 93 for those with prior experience working in construction, 122 for those with prior experience working in technology, 100 for those with prior experience working in healthcare, and 80 for those with prior experience working in veterinary care.

Manitoba PNP

The Manitoba PNP (MPNP) conducted draws on May 23 for three distinct initiatives. Those whose profile indicated that they are a close relative and a Manitoba supporter who is also a Canadian citizen or permanent resident were invited by the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream. To be eligible for this draw, candidates also had to be residents of Manitoba for a minimum of one year.

121 applicants who met the stream’s minimum score requirement of 782 were invited by the MPNP. Manitoba held a draw under the International Education Stream that same day, sending out 93 invitations to qualified applicants.

Finally, under the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream, the MPNP also staged a draw. Candidates were invited if it was apparent on their profiles that they had been selected for an MPNP strategic recruitment initiative. 39 invites were sent out by the province to applicants who scored at least 688. Of the 253 applicants in total who received an invitation to apply, 29 had a valid job seeker validation code and Express Entry profile.

There has been a lot of PNP activity this week, especially in Manitoba and British Columbia. Prospective immigrants are advised to stay updated about provincial immigration programs for more specific information on these draws, as there are a variety of chances available.
