Ernst & Young Calls For Job Applications
POSITION: Senior CCaSS Consultant
Are you ready to turn your passion for the planet into a powerful career? Do you want to advise leading organizations on how to navigate the complex world of climate risk and sustainability reporting? If so, Ernst & Young (EY) invites you to join our dynamic Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team. We are looking for a seasoned Senior Consultant to help our clients transform their environmental challenges into strategic business opportunities.
About the Role
As a Senior in our CCaSS practice, you will operate at the intersection of business and environmental stewardship. Your primary mission will be to guide clients through the intricate landscape of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. You will not just analyze problems; you will actively collaborate with a dedicated team to devise and implement solutions. Specifically, your role involves advising organizations on how to seamlessly integrate sustainability into their core operations, manage emerging climate-related risks, and stay compliant with rapidly evolving regulations.
Consequently, your work will have a direct impact. You will provide the critical insights that shape sustainability strategies, drive climate change mitigation efforts, and ensure accurate sustainability reporting. To excel here, you need a robust understanding of climate science and sustainability principles, coupled with sharp analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas to stakeholders at every level.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will be broad and impactful. You will split your time between direct client engagement, strategic project management, and internal business development.
- Client Engagement and Strategy: You will lead and support client engagements focused on developing robust climate change and sustainability strategies. Moreover, you will develop comprehensive sustainability assessments and actionable plans. A key part of this role is advising clients on critical areas like climate risk management, carbon footprint reduction, and transparent sustainability reporting.
- Sustainability Reporting Excellence: You will assist clients in crafting sustainability reports that align with leading international frameworks. These include the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). Beyond report creation, you will ensure their compliance with environmental regulations and guide blending sustainability metrics with their financial and non-financial reporting.
- Climate Risk Assessment: You will conduct thorough climate risk assessments. This involves performing detailed scenario analysis and developing climate resilience plans. Additionally, you will advise clients on the regulatory requirements for climate-related disclosures, ensuring they meet all compliance obligations.
- Project Management and Delivery: You will manage all aspects of your projects, including timelines, budgets, and final deliverables, to guarantee high-quality outcomes. You will also coordinate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners to ensure projects stay on time and within scope.
- Stakeholder and Business Development: You will engage with a diverse group of stakeholders, from senior management and regulators to investors and community groups. You will also facilitate workshops and training sessions to build internal capacity on sustainability issues. On the business side, you will support our growth by writing proposals, delivering client presentations, and analyzing market trends to identify new service opportunities.
What You Need to Succeed
We are looking for a candidate who combines technical expertise with a proactive, enthusiastic mindset.
- Education: You need a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Change, Engineering, Geography, or a directly related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications such as LEED, ISO 14001, or SASB are highly desirable.
- Experience: You should have 3 to 5 years of experience in sustainability consulting or climate change advisory. A proven track record of delivering successful sustainability projects, ideally within a consulting environment, is essential.
- Technical and Soft Skills: You must have a strong command of key sustainability frameworks like GRI, CDP, TCFD, SASB, and ISSB. Experience with climate risk assessment tools and data analysis software is also required. Beyond technical skills, you need excellent communication abilities, strong project management skills, and a creative approach to problem-solving.
Your People Responsibilities and Growth
As a team member, you will maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate a genuine willingness to learn. You will work constructively with colleagues and actively participate in educational programs to sharpen your personal skills and business acumen. Furthermore, you will always understand and follow workplace policies and procedures.
