Engineering Jobs in Slovenia with Visa Sponsorship (€84,185 – €119,039 per year)

The economy of Slovenia is growing quickly, which brings in both expats and international companies. If a business wants to grow in Slovenia, it must first find a group of workers who want to work there. Also, they have to show proof that they have all the necessary work permits and legal permissions to live and work in Slovenia. If the right paperwork isn’t turned in, activities could be slowed down, and the company could be fined a lot.

This beautiful country with beaches and mountain views has a lot going for it, like high wages, a booming service industry, and a lot of options for foreigners. However, Slovenia is a European hidden gem that expats seriously undervalue. Slovenia has just 2 million people, but it has green urban areas that make you feel like you’re in a small town even though you’re in a big city.

What kind of work visa do you need to work in Slovenia? What kinds of jobs will support visas for foreigners in 2023 and 2024? What is the average salary in Slovenia? How much does it cost to live in Slovenia? And a lot more.

Slovenian Work Visa Categories

The Slovenian government issues various visas to foreign visitors depending on the purpose of their visit. Slovenian visas are available in the following types:

  • Visas for commercial purposes.
  • Visas for medical purposes
  • Members of official delegations visas.
  • Visas for visitors
  • Visas are available for study, research, or training.
  • Airport transit visas
  • Spouse visas for Slovenian nationals.

While these visas allow foreign nationals to enter Slovenia, they do not allow them to stay and work in the country indefinitely. For this, foreign nationals will need to get a Single Work and Residence permit.

  • A current passport.
  • A passport photo and fingerprints will be taken at the time of application.
  • Evidence that the applicant has Slovenian health insurance.
  • A recent criminal history check was conducted in the applicant’s home country.
  • A bank statement proving that the applicant has the financial means to live in Slovenia.

Important Considerations

Because Slovenia is a member of the European Union (EU), the rules and regulations controlling the need for a work permit do not apply to citizens of other EU member nations who wish to work in Slovenia. Even yet, EU citizens who intend to stay in Slovenia for more than three months must apply for a residence visa.

How does a foreigner find work in Slovenia?

Foreigners seeking work experience in Slovenia who are EU residents do not need a work permit. However, non-EU nationals are only permitted to work in Slovenia if they obtain a work visa and a residence permit, both of which must be sought in advance.
