Job Duties

  • Provide high quality antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care services.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised maternity care plans.
  • Deliver safe and evidence based care for low and high risk pregnancies.
  • Support continuity of carer throughout the maternity journey.
  • Promote positive birth experiences through compassionate clinical practice.
  • Provide safeguarding support for women, babies, and their families.
  • Encourage and support infant feeding through education and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date clinical records and documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.
  • Participate in service improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards across maternity services.
  • Participate in twenty four hour rota schedules, including nights and on call duties.
  • Deliver care within hospitals, clinics, community settings, and patients’ homes.

Job Requirements

  • Registered Midwife qualification with current professional registration.
  • Strong clinical knowledge across all aspects of maternity care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient engagement.
  • Effective organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.
