Canadian cities focused on Tech Careers
Canada has been bringing in the world’s best tech workers and the biggest tech companies at a record rate.
A new study from the Information and Communications Technology Council says that employment in Canada’s digital economy “soared” during the pandemic, even though the rest of the economy was hit by mass layoffs and other problems.
Canada’s fast-growing cleantech, health and biotech, advanced manufacturing, agri-food and food tech, and interactive digital media sectors are considered “key innovation areas” that will outperform the rest of the non-digital economy in the next five years because they are using digital technology. Each of these sectors is expected to add thousands of jobs by 2025.
