CANADA PASSPORT APPLICATION PORTAL
The passport granted to Canadian citizens is called a Canadian passport. It permits the holder to freely enter or re-enter Canada, travel from and to other countries in compliance with visa rules, make requests for protection while abroad, and make it easier to get help from Canadian consular officers overseas, if necessary.
TYPES OF CANADA PASSPORTS
There are currently five categories of Canadian passports:

Regular Passport

Diplomatic Passport
These are provided to Canadian ambassadors, senior government officials, diplomatic couriers, and others in accordance with the Diplomatic and Special Passports Order.
PASSPORT VALIDATION PERIOD
Adults (16 years of age and older) can receive Canadian passports with a 5- or 10-year validity, while minors (under 16) can receive passports with a 5-year validity.
CANADA PASSPORT ELIGIBILITY CRITERION
To become a citizen of Canada, thus, becoming eligible for a Canadian passport, you must:
- First and foremost, be a permanent resident
- Also, one must have spent three of the last five years in Canada and have in addition filed your taxes
- Besides that, one is required to pass a citizenship test and demonstrate language proficiency.
