BREAKING! Bukom Banku knocks down opponent in 3rd round to win bout in UK
Well known Ghanaian boxer, Braimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku, got his first ever victory outside Ghana after he knocked out Ferenc Albert in Bradford, United Kingdom on Saturday.
Banku earned the victory after dropping the Hungarian in round 3 at St George Hall in Bradford, UK on Saturday, September 7.
Bukom Banku as many calls him said before the bout that Albert would see a very short bout. The bout was organized by Monarch Events and Promotions. Lots of Ghanaians who taught the career of Banku has come to an end would have to rethink about it. Banku said, the bout was an opportunity for him to remind everyone about his abilities.
The self-acclaimed ‘African Mayweather’ who loves to inform his fans to attend his fight on time in order not to miss any action was true to his words this time by ending the fight in less than 10 minutes.
The current WBO African champion was denied a fight abroad by his former promoters because of an alleged eye problem.
Prior to the fight, Ferenc had promised to knock out Banku in round 3. The Hungarian instead predicted doom for himself.
Since his historic defeat to Bastie Samir in 2017, Banku had always wished to find his feet back and this win definitely came at the right time.
Banku made his years of experience count during the early exchanges with his portly opponent, downing him with a devastating right hook after a barrage of punches.
Sources close to Kamoko say that he will tour some parts of Europe before heading back to Ghana.
Before the bout, Banku said,
“Tell me a Ghanaian champion who has never tasted defeat before.
I have learnt alot from my defeat to Samir Bastie and hopefully I will show that on fight night in UK. Look this is my first international pro fight and I intend to make a statement.”
I am going to stop him (Albert Ferenc) in round 5. This fight won’t travel far. I tell you.”
He won on his debut fight with an early knock out. His Hungarian opponent, Ferenc Albert, went on his kneels as early the round of 3.
