POSITION: GMC Head

ASA Savings & Loans LTD invites you to step into a role where your expertise directly impacts employee well-being and organizational integrity. We are searching for a GMC Head, and this might be the perfect opportunity to apply your skills in a meaningful way.

This is more than a managerial position; it is a guardianship of fairness. As the Head of the Grievance Management Committee (GMC), you will serve as a critical pillar within our organization. You will navigate sensitive situations, ensure our practices align with the law, and champion the voices of our employees. Your primary mission is to uphold justice and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality while adhering to our entity manuals and the country’s labor laws.

Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will be diverse and impactful. You will be the first point of contact for all employee appeals, direct complaints, and grievances. This requires a meticulous and compassionate approach.

  • Initiate and Manage Grievances: You will personally open all employee complaints or appeals and direct complaints. Your role immediately involves forwarding every received case to the Group GMC for guidance, ensuring we follow established protocols from the very beginning.
  • Maintain Confidentiality and Uphold Justice: You will handle all GMC activities with the utmost discretion. By strictly following the entity’s manuals and the country’s labor law, you will ensure every decision is fair and just.
  • Report with Precision: You will take ownership of critical monthly and quarterly reports, delivering them on time and in the correct format. These include the Monthly Meeting & Appeal Report, a detailed Complaints Follow-up Report to track progress, and a Punishment Report that scrutinizes management actions against staff to ensure they align with our manual. You will also prepare Quarterly Reports on the final status of appeals.
  • Bridge Policy and Practice: A key part of your role involves a manual review. You will scrutinize our HR manual, identifying any differences between our internal policies and the labor law on key issues like termination, demotion, promotion, and penalties. This proactive step protects both the employee and the organization.
  • Lead and Educate: You will act as the key resource person, leading GMC sessions during orientations, training programs, and exit interviews. You will educate new and existing employees on our policies, setting the tone for a transparent and respectful workplace.

Skills and Experience

To succeed, you must bring a wealth of experience and a specific set of skills. We are looking for candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in management or law, backed by 10 to 15 years of extensive experience in managerial roles. We especially encourage retired female professionals to apply, as your seasoned perspective is highly valued.

You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. More importantly, you must possess the ability to handle stressful situations with grace and professionalism. Your strong interpersonal skills, combined with exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, will be your greatest tools. We need a leader with a proven track record of delivering results and commanding respect. Your sharp analytical skills will allow you to identify trends in staff complaints, helping us address systemic issues. A deep knowledge of relevant laws and regulations is non-negotiable. Candidates should be between 35 and 45 years old.

The ideal candidate embodies these core values:

  • Self-Driven: You possess a zeal-to-do approach and take initiative without being asked.
  • Excellent Team Player: You bring a positive attitude and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Meticulous: You pay close attention to detail and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ethical: You hold strong moral and ethical values, backed by physical and mental health and unwavering integrity.
  • Adaptable: You are willing and able to visit our branches whenever necessary.
