About Role
The Business Process Re-Engineering Specialist will serve as a Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) across five long-standing enterprise web applications built on .NET, SQL Server, and Teradata. The role focuses on analyzing current-state (“as-is”) processes, system behaviors, and data flows to identify inefficiencies, risks, and compliance gaps.
You will design and implement future-state (“to-be”) processes and system improvements that deliver measurable outcomes in efficiency, scalability, and service delivery. This role requires strong decision-making capability, cross-functional leadership, and hands-on involvement throughout analysis, documentation, modernization, and delivery phases.

Responsibilities
- Analyze and document current-state business processes, system workflows, and data flows across multiple enterprise applications
- Design and implement future-state processes that improve efficiency, compliance, scalability, and service delivery
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert supporting both KTLO operations and modernization initiatives
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops with architects, developers, QA teams, security, and business stakeholders
- Elicit, document, and translate clear business and system requirements for technical and non-technical audiences
- Create and maintain process, system, training, and compliance documentation aligned with SEM/SUITE standards
- Guide agile planning, backlog management, and delivery tracking using Azure DevOps
- Define success metrics and ensure alignment between business units and IT leadership
- Provide coaching and oversight to analysts, developers, QA staff, and subject matter experts
- Lead and support incremental modernization of legacy systems to contemporary platforms
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience as a Business Process, Application, or Systems SME
- Extensive background in business analysis, systems analysis, documentation, testing, and training
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps, Agile methodologies, and enterprise delivery frameworks
- Proven expertise in as-is and to-be process modeling and workflow design
- Familiarity with SEM/SUITE methodologies and public-sector IT standards
- Experience with ITIL-based service management, risk analysis, POAMs, and NIST controls
- Demonstrated success in modernizing legacy systems
- General technical knowledge of .NET, SQL Server, Teradata, and Azure DevOps
- Bachelor’s degree required; ITIL certification preferred
- Willingness to work hybrid onsite in Lansing, Michigan, and attend in-person interviews
