Position: Project Superintendent (Electrical)
Genser Energy Ghana Limited is seeking a Project Superintendent (Electrical) to provide technical leadership for electrical systems supporting company housing facilities and the strategic deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) across our operational sites. This critical role ensures all electrical and EV infrastructure is designed, installed, and commissioned safely, integrating seamlessly with site power systems in full compliance with industry standards and operational needs.
Objective and Key Responsibilities
You will serve as the technical authority for electrical systems, overseeing construction, ensuring compliance, and driving the adoption of modern EV infrastructure.
Technical Leadership
- Act as the electrical technical authority for housing facilities, managing LV/MV distribution, lighting, earthing, backup power, and low voltage systems.
- Review and approve all electrical designs, load studies, schematics, and specifications for compliance with Ghanaian regulations and IEC standards.
- Supervise all site electrical works for facilities, ensuring installations follow approved drawings and method statements.
- Coordinate daily electrical activities with civil and mechanical teams to prevent clashes and rework.
- Produce electrical drawings and specifications for project implementation.
- Lead the technical deployment of EV infrastructure, including charging station design, load impact assessments, and integration with existing power systems.
- Support the development of EV operational and safety procedures in collaboration with other departments.
Construction Supervision
- Oversee electrical works across all housing construction and refurbishment projects.
- Provide direct technical supervision to the Project Supervisor and lead the testing, commissioning, and handover of all electrical and EV systems.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Enforce stringent electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and EV charging safety protocols.
- Ensure contractor compliance with HSE plans and conduct regular electrical system inspections and audits.
Coordination and Reporting
- Collaborate closely with the Project Manager, Civil Superintendent, HSE, and Procurement teams.
- Provide detailed progress reports, risk logs, and technical updates on all electrical and EV system activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. Multicultural work experience is an advantage.
- Possess six to eight years of experience in electrical systems for facilities, power distribution, or industrial environments.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with power distribution upgrades, energy systems, or EV infrastructure is highly desirable.
- Professional registration with the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GHIE) or an equivalent body is an added advantage.

Location: This position is based at our operations in Wassa, Western Region.
